Thanksgiving fun 2013….

What a wonderful Thanksgiving we had!! Grandpa and Grandma Sullivan, Uncle Brian, Uncle Casey, Aunt Bridget, Jayce, Cameron, Marcus,Mikelle, Tyler, Allison and Connor all joined us for the fun filled weekend.  We sure missed Sister Emily Judd, who is currently serving her mission in Raleigh, North Carolina.

It just wouldn't be a complete Thanksgiving holiday without crazy, competitive games at the park…
This year we played kickball and ultimate frisbee.

Allison announced that Baby Whitezell #2 was due July 2014!!!

We played lots of board games...

…but the big game was the "Annual Pig Tournament"
Everyone starts off putting in $1.  Then players get eliminated one by one.
This game gets very intense!!! No one wants to be eliminated!
It came down to Allison against Casey, and Casey came out the BIG WINNER!!!!

Our beautiful table decorations!!
I must say, the food this year was amazing, as always!!!

Hannah and Mikelle outdid themselves this year with a great game show extravaganza.  We used the cultural hall at church in order to have enough space for all of the various activities. These two come up with the best ideas for family activities!! They thought of every last detail.  I was so impressed.

We all had a fabulous time at the The Condor's Hockey "teddy bear toss" game.
It was awesome to have the suite for all of us to be together.

A trip to Chicago

Since we were given two tickets to the BYU vs. Notre Dame football game we just had to make a trip out to Chicago to cheer on our Cougars, and continue celebrating our 25th year of wedded bliss!!

We stayed at the beautiful Four Seasons Hotel, which is just steps away from the Magnificent Mile and      Michigan Avenue shopping district.  Talk about a room with a view….WOW!!!!

We rented a car and drove out to South Bend, Indiana.  It was a very cold and snowy day!!  We toured the beautiful campus. Now Russ can check that off his bucket list.  Ever since he was a little boy, he has wanted to see the "golden dome".
Do you see the snow flurries?  Did I mention that it was FREEZING COLD?!?!?!

Notre Dame Stadium is quite old, but steeped in tradition!
I think I prefer the modern conveniences of BYU Cougar Stadium!

While we were in Chicago we also enjoyed walking around the city enjoying all the sights.  We had a wonderful dinner one night in a fabulous little neighborhood Italian restaurant. Wish we had quaint places like that in Bakersfield! Chicago is a great city to explore!!
